Ames Brook Campground is located in Ashland, NH and has easy access from well-maintained roads. The park office is staffed with friendly personnel who showed me my site on the map. They have a small on-site camp store and a large check-in area. The campground features a mix of back-in and pull-through sites with picnic tables, fire pits, cable TV, and Wifi. The campground is set in the woods with mostly level sites set on pea base rocks which can be sharp underfoot. Some sites have views of the creek and most have excellent privacy with ample space between neighbors. It offers a playground, a small pool, and a game room. The park roads, especially the front part near the full-time/seasonal sites, are unsightly and can be in poor condition with multiple speed bumps. The bathhouse, which is the only one available, is far from the transient RV users. The laundry room needs updating. There are lots of little trails on the property to take a dog on a walk. Many nearby restaurants provide food options. The campground is reasonably quiet, but its not worth the high cost to stay here.
