This campground is located in Tamworth and is a great spot for families. It offers large sites with access to the river, playgrounds, swimming, bicycling, and trails for kids to enjoy. There is a game room with pool tables and good WiFi in the office. The roads are dirt and gravel and can be dusty when dry and muddy when wet. Unfortunately, the campground is currently undergoing construction and there is noise from dump trucks and tractors in the mornings. The sites are limited for large rigs and campfire rings are too close to neighbors. There is a Medieval festival hosted at the campground and Verizon cell coverage is good. Power is a little weak, water pressure is low, and the sewer hookup is not level. There is no WiFi except at the office, and a quarter will get you five minutes of hot water for your shower. The hosts/owners are friendly and helpful, but they do not give advance notice when construction is happening. Overall, this campground is a great spot for families, but it is in need of some updates and repairs.

From The Campground

Tamworth Camping Area offers rental trailers with air conditioning, coffee makers, awnings, picnic tables, fireplaces, and charcoal BBQs. The campground has sites for tent and/or trailer camping for organized groups of adults or supervised groups of children or youth under 18. The on-site amenities include a country store, nine-hole mini-golf, and fishing & swimming on the Swift River. Tamworth Camping Area is pet-friendly and requires a $100 security deposit for all trailer rentals. Full payment of the rental fee is required before arrival. All prices listed include the site price and all utilities. Rental unit tax is added upon reservation. The $100 security deposit may be paid by separate check or credit card upon arrival. This deposit will be returned when you leave, provided there has been no misuse or damage to the trailer or equipment.
