Blakes Brook Campground is an older park located near the race at Loudon, NH. It is a decent spot for a stopover if you are completely self-contained and will shower and use your own bathroom. However, the campground is not well maintained and the sites were not cleaned up from the winter, with leaves and tree limbs everywhere. The single handle lever for the shower will get the water warm for three seconds, then ice cold. The mens room has one toilet stall floor that is so bad it might give way. The campground office is tiny and there is no camp store, so make sure to bring all supplies with you. Additionally, they charge an extra three dollars a day for use of the air conditioner. Finally, the nearest full grocery store is almost 30 miles away.
