What others are saying about this campground
Umbagog Lake in Milan, NH is a beautiful campground to spend some time. Situated approximately one mile from the campground, you may spot wildlife such as moose, which is always a good sign. The staff and volunteers at the campground were amazing and very helpful. Our site had a waterview and was shaded and private. There are some waterfront sites near the swim beach without any shade, so bring sunscreen. With water and electric hookups and an on-site dump station, our site was big enough for us. The campground sold ice and firewood, and they have a small store with a few supplies. We had a great sunset view and enjoyed watching the boats take off while sitting in our chairs in the water at our site. There is a nice bathhouse and laundry room, as well as some cabins for rent. When leaving the park and going left, you are in Maine within a few miles, and there is a small store called Uptons that has some essentials and some food and drinks for sale. If you go right toward Errol, there is a small grocery store and a gas station. We enjoyed taking a right turn onto Route 16 and driving to Rangeley, Maine. The first few miles of the drive is a little bumpy, but once you hit the border of Maine, its all newly paved road. In Rangeley, there are shops and good eating places, and we even found a fresh seafood truck that sold excellent seafood. We bought native scallops, salmon, and shrimp and made an excellent dinner. We loved this campground; it is a beautiful place to spend some peaceful and quiet time.
