What others are saying about this campground
Pawtuckaway State Park in Nottingham, NH, is an excellent park for a weekend trip with family or friends. There is always something to do for all ages at the park, including hiking, swimming, and kayaking. The park offers a large family beach on the lake and many trails leading to numerous points of interest, including a mountaintop fire tower and an extensive marsh that is home to beavers, deer, and great blue herons. The campground includes 192 wooded sites, many of which boast beautiful views of the lake. Each campsite has a picnic table, flat areas for a tent, and an open fire ring. Bathhouses are equipped with running water and flush toilets, and they offer 24-hour showers. The campground does not have any hook-ups at any of the campsites. Five cabins are also available at the park, with each cabin sleeping six people and featuring electricity, a fire ring, and a picnic table. However, pets are not allowed in any of the campsites or beach areas. The park also has a camp store where visitors can rent canoes and kayaks. There is also a public canoe and kayak launch available. With three distinct sections, Big Island, Horse Island, and Neals Cove, the campgrounds offer a range of camping options to fit any campers needs. While there have been some negative reviews regarding the quality of certain sites, the majority of visitors have had enjoyable experiences with a well-maintained campground. Therefore, Pawtuckaway State Park remains an excellent camping location and a highlight of the New Hampshire park system.
