Indian Rock Campground is a pleasant park located near Sandy Hook National Recreation Area. The campground has seen better days, with many of the amenities in disrepair or needing maintenance. The staff are friendly and eager to please, and the pool and wide open play area for children are great for families. The roads need some attention, but the sewer lines are being updated. The campground is mostly seasonal sites, with a few spots for weekenders. The bathrooms have been recently remodeled, but the mini golf, lodge, and pool need some work. There are a lot of rules in small print, but they are not enforced. The hookups worked, but the kiddie pool was filled in with sand and the play toys were old and potentially dangerous. The campground is close to McGuire Air Force Base and Great Adventure, making it a convenient spot for visitors.
