Chestnut Lake RV Campground is located in Port Republic, NJ and has recently upgraded many of their sites to include more 50-amp sites with sewer hookups. It is close to the river, which can mean an abundance of mosquitoes and flies in the area. The location is within 25 miles of Atlantic City and the Jersey Shore, making it an excellent spot for those who want easy access to the beach. Smithville, a small town with shops and places to eat, is also only 4 miles down the road. The park is clean and quiet, despite it being known as a party central on the weekends. In terms of amenities, the pool looks nice but was closed during my visit due to construction. The laundry room is reasonably priced but only has three washers for the entire campground. Furthermore, keep in mind that the roads inside the campground are narrow and can be difficult to navigate, especially for larger rigs. Lastly, there is a lack of concrete pads or gravel on most sites.
