The sand roads offer a bit of a challenge for navigation, but the campgrounds are clean and functional. The bathrooms are impeccably clean, a rare find in state campgrounds. There is occasional road noise and low-flying air traffic. However, its largely not bothersome. The nearby Wawa and gas station provide minimal provisions. The lake area is quite stunning and worth the hike. In the summer, plan for mosquitoes when visiting the area. Overall, if youre looking for a straightforward camping experience in beautiful nature with a nice trail network, Brendan Byrne State Forest is the place to go.
