Boot Hill Campground is a great place to stay while exploring the Alamogordo/White Sands area. The campground is well-maintained, with wide spaces and lots of room, and the owners have put in some trees which they water daily. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the management could not be nicer. There are clean, nice-sized lots, and the nightly rate includes electricity only. The campground is a few miles north of town, and there are daily walks down the back country roads past horses, pistachio, and pecan trees. There are no shade, turf, patios, pergolas, grills, or fire pits, and the sites do not have satellite reception. The Wi-Fi is marginal, and there are only two showers. There are some minor issues with the location being a little north of the city, and there is some construction noise from the highway. However, the sunsets are amazing, and the pistachio farm is fascinating. The people and businesses in the area are friendly and helpful, and the park is an excellent base location for visits to many interesting places.
