Albuquerque KOA Journey is a clean and well-organized campground close to the interstate, making it a great option for an overnight stay. Despite being beside the highway, traffic noise is not a major issue thanks to a sound wall. The sites have a lot of trees which adds to the attractiveness of the park. There are four dog walks and private dog parks for individual sites. The campground is gated and walled, and security codes are provided for entry at night. The pull-through campsites are long and level, making setup easy. The pool is not heated which some guests thought was unfortunate but nonetheless, it looks nice and inviting. The area around the campground may not look great, but the campground itself is secure with friendly helpful staff. The mountain views from the park make it unique. It is also conveniently located for grocery shopping and day trips to nearby locations.
