Kirtland AFB FamCamp is a military only campground located on the base. The park is split into two sections, the older one, where we stayed, was a mix of paved and gravel sites and a tree for shade at each. The newer section is all gravel with no trees. All sites have full hookups and are very level. The park is one of the more quiet military campgrounds weve stayed at, with only occasional air noise which was mostly from the local airport. The exchange and commissary are ok, but close earlier than were used to. There is a fenced, grassy dog park in the northwest corner with doggy bags and seating (no water). The bathhouse has only one commode and one shower per sex. The park is pet friendly, however there are a lot of goat heads that can irritate your pets, so be careful. The park is free of stickers so your furry friends wont get stuck, but be careful walking around the remaining area because they are everywhere! The park is great for an overnight stopover, however it looks like they havent put much base funding into the campground in quite some time. The rate is military discount and is a great value for an overnight stop.

FamCamp is a campground located near the Eubank Gate in Albuquerque, NM. It is open to all Active Duty, Reserve, Retired Military, DoD, NAF Civilians and their guests. The campground offers daily full hook-up sites for $30 and daily dry/tent camping for $15. Pets are welcome as long as they are current on their shots and adhere to the leash rules. The campground offers amenities such as a washer/dryer room, bathrooms, shower facility, gathering places, propane service, NM resale items in the office, and a dog park. The campground has rules and regulations that all guests are expected to obey. Quiet hours are from 2200-0600 daily, and no generators are allowed during quiet time. The campground also has pet rules that must be followed.
