What others are saying about this campground
Percha Dam State Park in Arrey, NM offers breathtaking views and a secluded atmosphere that is perfect for camping and wildlife watching. The park has a river that runs through it, and the surrounding nature is perfect for birdwatching. There is an abundance of painted bunting, summer tanagers, Bullocks orioles, sandhill cranes, and even a couple of vermillion flycatchers that are commonly seen. During the fall season, the park is a deer habitat, and its a great spot for duck watching. While some have reported negative interactions with the camp host, the park offers many amenities such as restrooms, water spigots, and RV hookups. The upkeep of these amenities, however, seems to be lacking, with trash and debris sometimes piling up, and cleanings not being done frequently. The river itself may not be the cleanest, but it’s still popular with locals, who come to the park to swim and fish on the weekends. Its also important to watch out for goathead thorns on the ground, which can be hard on dogs paws. Overall, Percha Dam State Park has a lot of potential to be a fantastic destination for nature lovers. While some aspects of the park may be problematic, its still worth visiting for the beauty and tranquility that can be found here.
