What others are saying about this campground
Well be back during the warm season to try some of the activities. Burro Mountain Homestead is an idyllic campground located in the Gila Mountains, 15 miles outside of Silver City. It is a coop camp community that offers full hookups with 50 amp power and free firewood. The only downside is the 7 mile dirt road to get there, which can be difficult to navigate in a motorhome. The area is very quiet and green, and deer and cattle roam the area. There are clean restrooms and a western-style lodge building with activities from Spring thru Fall. Most occupants rent spaces for long term, so it may be worth the drive for a long term stay, but not for an overnighter.
