This family owned campground is a great spot for a one night stay or an extended visit. The campground is very clean and well maintained, with full amenities such as showers, tank dump, electric, and water. The receptionist, Sharon, is very helpful and friendly. The campground is small but easy to navigate, with a wide turn-around at the back of the property. The campground is conveniently located next to Smokey Bear Memorial and close to Lincoln County attractions and Fort Stanton. There are a few permanent campers in the park, but their sites are clean and well kept. Motorcyclists may be a bit noisy during the day, but quiet down at night. Management is excellent to work with, allowing visitors to select their own site.

Mama Bear RV Park is a cozy, small, and friendly campground located in Capitan, New Mexico. It is conveniently located near the forest, the Smokey Bear historic site, restaurant, grocery store, and fuel. The campground has 20 spaces equipped with full hookups, an onsite bathhouse that is open in the spring, summer, and fall months, and is right next door to New Mexico's Smokey Bear State Park. Within walking distance of the post office, laundry mat, and the grocery store, Mama Bear RV Park has everything you need to relax and enjoy your vacation on the road. Nightly, weekly, and monthly rates are available.
