While swimming is not allowed, there is plenty of opportunity for boating, kayaking, paddleboarding on the lovely lake. The sunsets and sunrises are spectacular, and you may even hear coyotes talking to each other in the morning. There were limited staff, and some reviewers found it difficult to get in touch with them or to find information about the park. The dump station was closed, but campers could use the host site. The knoll setting of the campground can get very windy, and some sites were not very level. However, the spaces were spacious and clean, and the private shower was a bonus for a state park. Overall, Brantley Lake offers a great opportunity to save money and visit other nearby attractions, such as Carlsbad Caverns or Sitting Bull falls.
