Camp Washington Ranch is a unique and peaceful campground located near Carlsbad Caverns National Park and Guadalupe Mountains Park. It was originally a ranch, but was purchased in the 1980s by a non-profit that serves adults with disabilities. The property has ponds and creeks running through it, which are fed by the springs that service Carlsbad Caverns National Park. There are four RV camping sites, each with 30 amp power and water, and a dump station located at the end of the gravel patch. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and offer a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the atrium has neat plants to see. There is no dog park, but the landscaped grounds offer plenty of space to walk a dog on leash. The closest dumpster for trash is far from the gravel patch for the RVs. The RV sites are not set up well and the staff has plans to improve them. The campground is expensive for not having full hook ups or access to the dump.

Washington Ranch in Carlsbad is truly an oasis in the desert of southeastern New Mexico. Our 4000+ acres offer plentiful opportunities for whatever your needs may be. Our atrium and grounds are beautiful backdrops for weddings. Our kitchen and conference center is perfect for your meeting or training. Our dorms and commercial kitchen will make your large group feel right at home. The facilities can accommodate a variety of different groups from large gatherings to small intimate weddings. Washington Ranch is owned and operated by CARC, Inc. In 1986 CARC purchased Washington Ranch to provide expansion capabilities for CARC's primary mission of serving people with developmental disabilities. CARC has since built two groups homes on the property. These group homes support the mission and values of CARC. Camp Washington Ranch is first and foremost the home of our special clients. Any visitor to Camp Washington Ranch must understand that they are guests in their home. Before being purchased by CARC, Washington Ranch had a colorful history of gun slingers, double-dealing cattle ranchers, and entrepreneurial business men. A tour of the grounds offers multiple opportunities to travel back in time for a taste of the wild west. Today, this historic facility is available to the public and serves as a unique backdrop for weddings, conferences, traveling church groups, bird watchers, and many more. Facilities for rent include the main house with kitchen, conference center, atrium, several restrooms, and three motel rooms. Beyond the main house, facilities include two single-room cabins and a spacious bunk house. Large groups will enjoy our dining hall with commercial kitchen and four dorms capable of sleeping 20 people each. All in all, Camp Washington Ranch has the facilities to provide accommodation in Carlsbad for 100 people. Step away from the ordinary and join us at Washington Ranch.
