From The Campground

Willow Creek Campground is a beautiful campground located in the Gila National Forest. It provides a quiet, peaceful area in the pines and is nestled in the canyon under tall pines. The camp sites run along both sides of the stream. There are four tent camping sites available, all on a first-come, first-serve basis. The campground has two vault toilets and is restricted to a 14-day stay. The closest town is Reserve, NM. The campground is open from April to November and offers activities such as camping, fishing, and nature viewing. NM Game and Fish stocks Willow Creek with trout two to three times a year. The campground is marked #17 on the Southwestern NM Birding Trail Guide. Willow Creek offers many high-elevation species, including Band-tailed Pigeon, Red-naped Sapsucker, Olive-sided Flycatcher and MacGillivray's Warbler.
