GenieSummary

Carson National Forest in Cimarron offers a stunning camping experience with 36 campsites surrounded by trees and beautiful green grass. Vault toilets are consistently clean and the area is quite friendly. The campsites are secluded and provide a grill, tables, and showers. There is plenty of hiking and potential to see wildlife, including herds of elk and deer. The nearest gas station is a half hour away, so make sure to bring everything you need. It can get cold at night, so be sure to bring warm clothing. The roads to get there can be tough if its been raining, but the views are worth the trip. The Shuree Ponds are a great spot for fishing, but make sure to bring only flies or artificial lures with a single, barbless hook. The campground host is very friendly and helpful.
