What others are saying about this campground
Red Cloud Campground in Corona, NM is a secluded and remote campsite situated in a beautiful pine forest with only five spread-out camp sites. Even though it is located on gravel roads, it is accessible for RVs. The site has a fire ring, grill, and picnic table. At night, it is pitch black with only natural sounds. On clear nights, the stars are amazing. The camp provides a restroom but no hookups. Despite the lack of facilities, it is a great spot to get away and soak in nature. The site is well-marked and easy to find even at night. Google Maps takes you to the right spot, but Apple Maps and Dyrt have it marked wrong. There is no cell coverage, but there are plenty of signs. The roads are solid, and a 2WD sedan can get in and out easily, 4WD is only required if the road conditions are muddy. The campground is fenced and well-maintained and accessible without 4x4. It is an ideal place to disperse camp with vault toilets at approximately 8000 ft. Visitors can observe elk crossing the campsites. Red Cloud campground is an excellent place to camp in the summer to escape the heat and is located near the town of Corona. The campground is part of Cibola National Forest and offers beautiful views up the road on the way to a fire tower. While it can get crowded on weekends and particularly during fall hunting season, several dispersed campsites are also available near the entrance to the campground and down the road past the campground.
