Midway RV Park in Dexter, NM is an older campground that is well-maintained and clean. Most of the park is occupied by permanent residents who are living in old campers, but they are generally clean and not unkempt. Although there is one camper that detracts from the looks of the park with its bad paint job and messy exterior, getting rid of it could make a significant difference. The staff at Midway RV Park is excellent, with friendly and helpful employees who only accept check or cash. The pull-through sites are designed as buddy sites, meaning there are two RVs parked closely together per site. Though we only saw one other transient, there were a few motorcycle tent campers at one of the pull-through sites. Road noise from the four-lane highway on one side and a two-lane highway on the other side could be a bit loud, but it was not unbearable. We appreciated the free and pretty good Wi-Fi connectivity. Ants were quite prevalent, so we recommend being cautious, and we had to spray the area around our RV frequently. The full hook-up back-in site was standard size and adequate, while the pull-through water and electric sites were slightly longer but very close together. Overall, we agree with others that Midway RV Park is an appropriate stopping point, although we wouldnt stay for more than a few days at most if it werent for the Passport America discount. The location is convenient to Roswell, but the fly and cow smells can be overwhelming, particularly in warmer months.
