What others are saying about this campground
Eagle Nest Lake State Park is a beautiful campground situated between mountain ranges and overlooking a picturesque lake. Campsites offer a mix of back-in and short pull-thru options, with water and a centrally-located vault toilet. Although there is no shade and no hook-ups, the picnic tables are covered and the sites are spacious and level. One camping area has unobstructed views of the lake and mountains. Wildlife is abundant around the campsite, including groundhogs, rabbits, and birds, which adds to the experience. The campground is in an open area with no privacy, so be aware that conversations may carry. The hiking trail is easy and the lake is great for paddleboarding. The park is currently in pre-season and only partially occupied. Generators are allowed from 7 am to 9 pm, and there are trash dumpsters and water spigots throughout the park.
