GenieSummary
Monticello South is a great campground located in a beautiful state park in New Mexico. The campsites are small and close together, but they have nice sized sites and full hook ups. The lake is very low, making for a quiet campground with few visitors. The hosts are very friendly and keep each site immaculate. There are no water access areas except by boat, so if you plan on boating, this is the perfect campsite for you. The park is located on the southeast side of the lake and the roads into the park are tight and the trees hang low. The center of the park has a nice area for gathering, plenty of trees, and is the only area that allows campfires. The park is clean, quiet, and friendly, and the owners are trying to fix the place up. The views of the Rio Grande River are stunning, and it is a great place to take the family.
