The campground is well maintained and affordable, with nightly rates of under $20. Be aware that the roads can be sandy, so bring a vehicle with good traction. Also, the showers are push button type with only 60 seconds of water.

Elephant Butte Lake State Park is New Mexico's largest state park and offers a variety of outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, boating, hiking, and wildlife viewing. The park has 173 developed campsites, including 144 sites with water and electric hookups, 8 full hookup sites, and primitive camping options. Boaters can enjoy the lake with various watercraft, including kayaks, jet skis, pontoons, sailboats, ski boats, cruisers, and houseboats. The park also offers picnic areas, playgrounds, restrooms, and a marina.
