Cosmic Campground is an ideal spot for stargazing and telescope enthusiasts. Located on top of a hill in the New Mexican mountains, this small campground offers gravel parking for RVs and plenty of room for tents. With 5 designated drive-up spots and dispersed sites in the meadow, there are plenty of places to set up camp. There are several fire rings, vault toilets, and concrete pads for telescopes and tri-pods. The area is surrounded by wilderness and has no light pollution, making the night sky magical. Fires are currently banned due to the pandemic, but the campground has a ranger station with a water spout about 20 minutes away. Cell service is limited, so its best to bring a camping toilet and traveljanes from Amazon for women. The grass may be a bit high, but otherwise the campground is clean, quiet, and perfect for a night of star gazing.
