What others are saying about this campground
The Coal Mine Campground is a great primitive camping spot located in Grants New Mexico. It offers a low fee of $5 per site and is perfect for those looking for a peaceful nights sleep. The campground features fire rings, grills, picnic tables, level places for tents, and back-in sites for boondocking RVs. It also has clean vault toilets, but no electricity or water hookups. The campground is close to many attractions like Bluewater Lake, El Morro, and the Ice Cave, and is a great spot for those looking to hike the Continental Divide Trail. It is also great for those with smaller camping units, as there are some pull through spots available. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee of privacy as the campground is patrolled by a forest service employee.
