Leasburg Dam State Park in Las Cruces, NM is an excellent and affordable place to camp, with spacious accommodations that include 30Amp service and water. Additionally, there is a dump site and public showers for everyone to use. Youll want to make a reservation beforehand to secure your spot. Every site has a spacious layout, and youll have plenty of elbow room to spread out. The camp hosts at the Visitor Center are friendly and helpful. Upon arrival, you can easily find reservation information at your campsite. Youll have a level concrete pad with a covered picnic table patio, which provides some shelter from the wind, as it tends to be windy in the area. The campground is tidy, with some short trails throughout the area, and the views are fantastic. Youll see beautiful sunsets over the surrounding hills, and you have an opportunity to explore the region. There is plenty of wildlife to see, including rabbits and a variety of birds. Leasburg Dam State Park is worth your time and a great spot to camp, even for just one night.

Leasburg Dam State Park is a peaceful and relaxing park located along the Rio Grande, just a short 25-minute drive from Las Cruces. The park features a beautiful cactus garden, several hiking trails, and opportunities for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and birding. Night sky programs are very popular at this park, which features an observatory. The campground offers 23 total sites, including 12 W + E sites (30 amp), 4 W + E sites (50 amp), 1 Handicap site W + E (50 amp), and 1 Handicap site W + E (30 amp). Amenities include an amphitheater, RV dump station, water in campground, trails, vault toilets throughout the park, restrooms with water and showers, historic site, native plant gardens, observatory, playground, and visitor center with exhibits. Group facilities include a group picnic shelter and group camping.
