From The Campground
Head of the Ditch Campground is a rustic streamside camping experience located in a scenic valley approximately 1.5 miles west of historic Luna, New Mexico. The campground has 12 tent sites and 3 RV sites suitable for self-contained camping. There are no hookups or dumping stations. The campground is marked with a blue sign and is located at the head of the irrigation ditch which gives it its name. Water from the San Francisco River runs through the campground and is used for irrigation in Luna Valley. The campground has a large open area and shady campsites with pine, oak, cottonwood, and willow trees. There is a vault toilet on site and no showers. The campground is open year-round and is first-come, first-served. There is no fee for camping.
