Junebug Campground is a wonderful dry camping park located near Red River, NM. It is situated at an altitude of 8700 feet, making it a great escape from the summer heat. All sites are dusty and gravel, but they are large enough to accommodate pop-ups, some larger campers, and even big Class Cs. There are no hookups, but there is city water available and vault toilets, which are cleaned daily by the camp host. The campground is located right on the Red River, offering beautiful scenery and plenty of wildlife to observe. Rates are $20/night, $10 with the National Sr pass. The area offers a lot of activities, including fishing in the river which is stocked with trout weekly. The camp host is extremely nice, and the campers are respectful of nature. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

From The Campground
Junebug Campground is a recently refurbished roadside campground located near the historic Red River mining area and downhill ski resort. It offers 20 campsites for tents or trailers at an elevation of 8,500 feet. The campground is open from May through September and is heavily used. It is important to note that water is currently unavailable due to water quality testing. However, the campground offers amenities such as picnic tables, vault toilets, and parking for backcountry visitors. Fishing access for Red River is also available.
