The NRA Whittington Center Campground in Raton, NM is a large and beautiful destination RV park where you can see a lot of wildlife and enjoy a variety of ranges for shooting. Although it is 3 miles off the main highway, the drive may be difficult due to the road conditions which can be a little bit gravelly and washboarded. The location is situated at the top of a hill where the wind can be quite strong. The sites are a bit on the tight side for bigger rigs but theyre rustic with full hookups. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful, so you can enjoy yourself even if youre far from home.

The NRA Whittington Center is a premier hunting, shooting, and outdoor recreation facility that offers a broad range of housing to accommodate individuals, couples, and small to large groups. The center has a variety of lodging options including RV campsites, primitive campsites, log cabins, RV log cabins, Legacy Cabins, Harlon Carter Cabin, Chairman Cabin, and Brownell Suites. The newly remodeled Legacy Cabins provide a more private experience. The Harlon Carter Cabin and Chairman Cabin are newly renovated cabins that include all new flooring, furniture, satellite TV, ceiling fans, kitchen appliances, and remodeled bathrooms. The Brownell Suites are two beautifully remodeled suites that are perfect for a luxurious getaway for up to 4 people. The RV Log Cabins can be used on their own or in perfect conjunction with your RV. The Whittington Center also hosts hundreds of private and public events every year and offers training courses on 360-degree ranges where dynamic movement, defensive posture, and the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship are emphasized.
