Elks Run is a small, no-frills campground located off the highway near Ruidoso. It is perfect for those looking for a peaceful getaway with plenty of beautiful pine trees and a large herd of deer grazing in a nearby field. The sites are spacious, with full hookups and a picnic table. The access roads to the campsites are narrow, making it difficult for larger rigs, but manueverable. The restrooms are clean and have washer/dryer available. There is no Wi-Fi, but it is a pleasant place with friendly people. The daily rate is on the higher side, and large rigs may have difficulty navigating the tight turns.
