GenieSummary
A small creek flows through the campground. Paliza Group Campground is a beautiful, primitive campground located in the high elevations of the Jemez Mountains in New Mexico. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire pit, and a location for a tent. The campground is open all year round and typically has a camp host. It is perfect for anyone who loves to hike, bike, climb, snowshoe, ski, view wildlife, fly fish, soak in hot springs, gallery shop, or just hang out at your beautiful campsite. The campground is nestled between beautiful deep red striped mountains and a small creek runs through the campground. There are no hook-ups and currently, you cant reserve spots in advance. Be sure to bring bug spray as there are lyme carrying ticks in the area. The campground is close to the start of Paliza trail, which is a roughly 4 mile roundtrip, and ends at Goblin Village, a rather amazing collection of hoodoos. The little village of Ponderosa is just a couple of miles away, and it contains Ponderosa Winery, a small winery with a modest tasting room. During the winter months, it can get extremely cold so be sure to bring the proper gear.
