From The Campground

Carson National Forest - La Junta Canyon offers eight family units for camping, with toilets, drinking water, and trailer mobility under 36'. The campground is adjacent to Rito la Presa Fishing Trailhead to La Cueva Lake Trail #8 and Duran/Policarpio Trail #13. The area is popular for fishing, with Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, and a few Rio Grande Cutthroat available. Day hiking and OHV trail riding are also popular activities. The campsite fee is $12/night, with discounts available for senior or access pass holders. Extra vehicles are $6/night, and day use parking is $6/day.
