GenieSummary
This campground is situated on the St. Lawrence Seaway, offering stunning views of the river and ocean-going vessels. There are two bathhouses and electric hookup sites, as well as non-electric sites for those who want to save money. The park is well-maintained and offers a boat launch, swim area, pavilion, playground, and more. The staff is friendly and helpful, and walk-up reservations are allowed. The sites are small and dont offer much privacy, but they are wide open and offer great views. There is a bait store nearby and the downtown of Alexandria Bay is close by. The campground is a great spot for families, with a playground and beach area. The dump station is easy to access, but the water hose to flush the black tank was missing its end. Overall, it is a great campground with stunning views and friendly staff.
From The Campground
Grass Point State Park is a popular spot for campers and day-users, who come to boat, swim, fish, picnic, or just to relax. The park is located on a point of land that projects into the American Channel of the St. Lawrence River, known for some of the best fishing in the country. There is a marina and boat launch, an area is available for games, and the sandy beach and shallow water are excellent for children. The park offers campsites, cottages, and cabins for overnight stays. The Grass Point cottage, a full-service accommodation, has a bathroom with shower, kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, cooking and eating utensils. Bedding, pillows, and linen are also provided. The screened-in porch has some outstanding views of the river and sunsets.
