From The Campground

Sugar Hill State Forest is a beautiful forested area in the Finger Lakes region of New York. It offers a variety of outdoor activities including fishing, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and hiking. The Six Nations Trail System covers about 35 miles and is primarily used for horseback riding during the summer months and snowmobiling in the winter months. The Sugar Hill Fire Tower, erected in 1941, is one of the last fire towers in New York State readily accessible to the public and affords a 15-mile view from the top of the stairs. The Sugar Hill Rec Area has a picnic area with tables, charcoal grills, picnic pavilion, and during summer months a restroom with potable water is available. Wildlife watching and hunting are also popular activities in the area.
