Merry Knoll is a beautiful campground situated on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Clayton, NY. The campground is kept in immaculate shape by the friendly owners, Jim and his wife, who are always checking in on their guests and maintaining the grounds. Guests can enjoy a stunning sunset overlooking the river from the community deck, or take a short walk downhill to a campground-owned deck with seating. The owners are extremely hospitable and even offer a golf cart tour of the grounds before you pull your rig in. The sites have a view of the river, and there is an open field below with the best view of the river. There is an extra $4 charge per day if you want to run your AC, although most sites are shaded. Guests can also enjoy watching the ships pass by on the Seaway, and the owners are happy to answer questions about the local area. The daily rate is a little high, but is in the usual range for the area.

Merry Knoll Campground is the highest rated campground in the 1000 Islands region of Clayton, NY. It offers a beautiful view of the main channel of the St. Lawrence River and is centrally located, only 12 miles from Alexandria Bay and 10 miles from Cape Vincent. The campground has a camp store, swimming pool, playground, game room, and fishing pier. Visitors can also rent boats from nearby marinas. The hosts, Jim and JoAnne, are welcoming and happy to assist visitors in making their stay a pleasant and memorable experience.
