Darien Lakes State Park, formerly known as Harlow Lake and Park, is a beautiful park located in New York. The park offers a variety of activities such as biking, camping, disc golf, equestrian trails, fishing, hiking, hunting, pavilions and shelter rentals, playgrounds, showers, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and swimming beach. The park also has a bird house for purple martins near Harlow Lake. The old field and successional shrubland habitat within the park provide potential breeding grounds for rare grassland birds species, such as Henslow's Sparrow, Northern Harrier, and Upland Sandpiper. Hunting is prohibited in the campground, day use areas, and disc golf course.
