Newtown Battlefield State Park is a historic park that hosted Civilian Conservation Corps Company 1251-c during the Great Depression in the 1930s. The park offers deer hunting (bow only) in season and has safety zones and restricted areas posted to ensure the safety of other park patrons and regional personnel. The park has campsites, cabins, and lodging available for rent, as well as grills, pavilions, and shelter rentals. There are also accessible playgrounds and showers. Educational programs and gorge tours can be scheduled for groups of 10 or more.
