Woodstream Campground is a great place to stay for those looking for a pet-friendly outdoor experience. The campground has roomy sites with full hookups, and is close to the beautiful Letchworth State Park. The East Koy Stream runs through the property, and is stocked with trout, making it perfect for fishing. The campground also has trails and wooden bridges crossing the stream, providing a nice place for walking. The owner visited one night and shared plans for various upgrades, including the bathrooms and showers. Pull through sites are good for roof mounted satellite dishes, although the trees to the southwest are too tall. Site #113, however, has a small window through the trees, and DirecTV worked flawlessly there. An antenna can also be used to get excellent reception of one of the major network stations. WiFi is available from the local school, although it is slow. The camp office closes at 4:00 PM, and there is no note to tell campers where to park for 50-amp service. The sewer cap is on so tight that campers may need assistance when draining their tanks.

If you’re looking for classic, no-fuss camping in Western New York, Woodstream Campsite is where it’s at. Set in the quiet town of Gainesville, this family-friendly campground offers a mix of RV sites, tent spots, and cabins—with plenty of space to stretch out, cast a line in the creek, or cool off in the pool. On weekends, expect wagon rides, BBQs, and live music. There’s even soft ice cream at the camp store, which kind of seals the deal. The location doesn’t hurt either. Just down the road is Letchworth State Park, home to massive waterfalls, dramatic cliffs, and miles of trails. You’re also close to the Genesee River for paddling or fishing, and kids love hand-feeding animals at Hidden Valley Animal Adventure. For something more mellow, take a walk through the wetlands on the Swallow Hollow Trail, or swing by East Hill Creamery for small-batch cheese and some low-key country charm. Whether you’re here for a weekend or just passing through, Woodstream Campsite makes it easy to kick back and enjoy the outdoors.
