Moreau Lake State Park in Gansevoort, NY has its charms and challenges. The parks roads are in good condition, but a few tight spots exist due to trees, which can make it tricky for larger RVs. However, the park offers great outdoor recreation, including hiking and paddling. Generators are allowed in the park but used responsibly by most campers. Restrooms and showers are available and well-maintained, although the water temperature in the showers can be inconsistent. Moreover, the park is more relaxed than other nearby areas, even in the busy summer season, and the peaceful atmosphere offers visitors a chance to unwind. The parks campsite is spacious and provided excellent separation between neighboring sites. Although there was limited variety in the sites we could get into, due to trees, the shaded spots are great for summer camping. Additionally, there are two pavilions that you can rent, great for big groups. The beach area is a popular destination for visitors, but there is always ample space to relax. Although the sandy beach areas gift and snack bar was unstaffed when we visited, there is a nice playground that children can enjoy. Furthermore, the park is conveniently located, situated just off the I-87, and allows for easy access to nearby attractions, including Saratoga Springs and Lake George. We highly recommend visiting the National Horse Racing Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs. All in all, Moreau Lake State Park is worth visiting and offers excellent outdoor recreation opportunities.

Moreau Lake State Park is a beautiful park located in upstate New York. The park offers a variety of activities including hiking, fishing, boating, and camping. There are several cabins and cottages available for rent, as well as a group campsite. The park also has a nature center and offers environmental education programs for all ages. In the winter, visitors can enjoy snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on groomed trails. The park is open year-round, weather permitting.
