Sun Outdoors Association Island in Henderson, NY is a breathtaking, hidden gem of a campground with stunning views. The friendliness of the staff and the beauty of the grounds will make you want to stay there forever. Although the site pads on the water are not very pull-behind friendly, with a little wiggle and the right equipment, youll be able to make it work. There are a lot of upgrades happening at this campground and there is so much to do and see. However, if you decide to splurge on a waterfront campsite, be prepared for mosquitoes and other bugs. Mosquitoes were a problem for one reviewer, which led to spiders all over the truck and trailer, and the picnic table was covered in webs. The smell in some areas of the campground was an issue, with some blaming it on algae and others suggesting it was sewage. Additionally, there were protests against an expansion of the campground, which upset some local homeowners. Despite the issues, the scenic views and friendly staff are worth the visit.
