GenieSummary
Brown Tract Campground is a remote and peaceful paradise for campers. Located in the Adirondacks, the campground features a large pond/small lake with a sandy beach and day-use area. There are spacious campsites, both waterfront and non-waterfront, with plenty of space between each. Canoes can be rented or brought to explore the lake, and families can jump from a large rock into the lake from an island in the middle. At night, the stars come out and the Milky Way can be seen, and the only sound is the occasional crackle of a fire. There are no motorboats allowed on the lake, making it perfect for paddling. There are no electric or water hook-ups, no showers, and no bear-proof lockers, but there are restrooms. There is no cell service or WiFi. Unfortunately, the campground is unsafe for older campers, as the bathroom serving the campsite is situated on top of a hill with stairs leading to it, and there is no lighting at night. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the generators can be heard throughout the day.
