The interior roads are deep-rutted stone and dirt that can be a bit challenging, so drive carefully. There are only one bank of shower/toilet rooms that are clean and well-maintained. While some of the stalls may be small and tight, the water pressure is good, and the hot water is working properly. Please note that there is no heat in the bathroom areas, so it can be chilly in the colder months. Also, there are no towels or dryers to dry your hands to wash up or just after finishing a shower, so remember to bring yours. Overall, Drapers Acres is an excellent choice for those looking for a quieter and simple camping experience, close to the heart of Lake Placid.

Draper's Acres is a family run campground in Lake Placid, NY. They offer cabins, tent sites, RV sites, dump station, and shower houses. The campground is open from May 20th through Columbus Day. They welcome campers, families, hikers, adventurers, 46ers, rock climbers, IRONMAN, volunteers, horseshow, neighbors to the north, rugby & lacrosse players and any other travelers that come their way! They are not a camping resort, but rather a home base for those who choose to embrace the nature surrounding them. For those looking for camping resorts, they recommend checking out the neighboring town of Wilmington.
