What others are saying about this campground
Lewey Lake in Lake Pleasant, NY is a state-run campground that offers a unique layout along the main road. Although it primarily caters to smaller campers and trailers, premium water access sites are available for those with 26 foot or smaller trailers. The ample spacing between sites provides a sense of seclusion, however, its worth noting that most sites have a sand or dirt base and are not leveled. Because of this, campers will want to bring plenty of cribbing to level their rigs properly. The bathrooms and showers have received recent updates and offer individual shower stalls along with family bathrooms containing changing tables. Kayak and canoe rentals are reasonably priced, so campers can explore the lake and take in the stunning views. While firewood is available for purchase, it is a bit steeply priced at $11 per bag. As for cell service, there is no signal until arriving in the town of Speculator, which is located about 15 minutes south of the campground. Primitive campsites, with no running water and an outhouse for restroom facilities are available for booking. Its worth noting that some of these sites are on offshoots of the main camping loops. Booking these sites upfront may be a good option for those who prefer boondocking. All in all, Lewey Lake provides a serene atmosphere for campers who seek a more laid back camping experience. We definitely recommend returning to this lovely campground.
