We will return so that our children have good memories of this campground too. Whetstone Gulf State Park is a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The park is tucked away behind acres of rural farmland and offers large, spacious sites for campers and RVs. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and there is a swimming area created by damming the Whetstone Creek. The park also has a playground for children and a beach house, though the beach is closed for the season. Cell reception is limited, and full hookups are not available, but the park is upgrading some sites with electric hookups. There is a dump station and water spigots located throughout the different loops. Overall, this is a great park for those looking for a quiet, relaxing environment.

From The Campground
Whetstone Gulf State Park is built in and around a three-mile-long gorge cut into the eastern edge of the Tug Hill Plateau. The gorge is one of the most spectacular scenic vistas east of the Rocky Mountains. The park has 56 wooded campsites- some of which are electric, a scenic picnic area along Whetstone Creek, a man-made swimming area and trails for hiking and cross-country skiing, one of which circles the gorge. Above the gorge is Whetstone Reservoir, stocked with tiger muskie and large-mouth bass for fishermen, and popular for canoeing.
