What others are saying about this campground
Robert Moses State Park is a large full service campground situated on the St. Lawrence Seaway in the 1000 Islands region of New York. The park offers 212 sites with electric and water spigots close enough to run a hose. The campground is surrounded by huge grassy lots, and many of the sites have a great view of the Seaway. There are bathhouses with showers, a two lane dump station, and a marina that can accommodate small john boats up to 35 feet. There are a number of hiking trails in the park and around nearby Massena, and a very nice visitors center with many wildlife displays and a large aquarium featuring native fish and turtles. The nearby village of Massena has a number of good restaurants, as well as grocery stores, a Super Walmart, and others. However, there is an infestation of web caterpillars in the park, so be prepared with bug spray. The park is very popular with families and can get quite busy on weekends, but it is generally quiet at night.

From The Campground

Robert Moses State Park is a spacious park located partly on the mainland and partly on Barnhart Island, on the St. Lawrence River. Visitors reach the park through a tunnel under the Eisenhower Lock. The park offers a multitude of recreational opportunities, including camping, a marina and boat launch, some of the best fishing in the Northeast, picnic areas, a swimming beach, tennis courts, and a year-round nature center. The park's nature, hiking, and cross-country skiing trails wind through fields, forests, and wetlands, with overlooks showcasing spectacular views. In winter, the park also welcomes snowmobilers.
