Hunts Pond State Forest is a beautiful forest located in Chenango County, New York. Camping is allowed at designated campsites with a permit from May 1 through September 30. The forest is managed by the DEC and features young softwood plantations that were planted during the late 1960s. Visitors can observe the differing growth rates of European larch, red pine, and Norway spruce. Nearby amenities can be found in the nearby community of New Berlin, while lodging can be found in the nearby communities of Norwich or Oneonta. The forest offers a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and wildlife viewing.
