Cumberland Bay State Park is a great place to stay and explore Upstate New York. The campground is located close to Montreal, Burlington, and Lake Placid, and the beach is very clean and beautiful. The sites are large and grassy, and the beach parking is separate from the camping area, making it great for families with kids. The bathrooms are clean and the new shower and laundry house is a great addition. The views of the mountains, Adirondacks, and Lake Champlain are stunning. The sites are mostly level and sandy, with lots of trees, tables, and fire rings. There is one loop of electric and water hookups, but this could be a problem at high use times of the year. The dump stations are spotless and the dark atmosphere makes for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Cumberland Bay State Park offers campsites ranging from $15-$29/night, with an additional $5/night fee for non-NYS residents. The park features amenities such as campsites, cabins and lodging, food, grills, pavilions and shelter rentals, playgrounds, playing fields, showers, snowshoeing/X-Country skiing, and a swimming beach. The park also hosts events such as animal activities, nature-themed crafts, games, scavenger hunts, and more. Firewood source maps show a 50-mile radius from which untreated firewood may be moved to this campground. For more information see firewood restrictions.
