Eagle Point Campground & Day Use Area is located on the west side of Schroon Lake and offers 72 campsites. The campground offers a swimming area, hiking opportunities, and a Junior Naturalist Program for children. The land on which the campground is situated was purchased in 1928 and construction of the campground began in 1928-1929. The campground is close to restaurants, antique shops, gift stores, and various craft shops. The campground has established safeguards for swimming as there is no lifeguard on duty. The Eagle Point Final Unit Management Plan (UMP) (PDF) guides the DEC's land management activities at this facility for a five-year period. The UMP addresses specific objectives and actions for public use at this facility. DEC campground rules and regulations apply, and visitors are encouraged to clean their boats and equipment to help prevent the spread of aquatic invasives and not move firewood to help prevent the spread of invasive insects. The campground offers a sustainable camping experience and a beautiful embroidered patch can be earned through the Junior Naturalist Program.
