The crystal-clear lake, Raquette Lake, has many activities to offer for the whole family such as kite surfing, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and bird watching. The beach is clean, and the location is tucked away in the foothills of the Adirondacks, making it peaceful and relaxing. The camping sites are spacious, with many massive trees full of life. The campground offers a lot of private sites that are perfect for getting away from it all. Showers and bathrooms are as expected from a state park. There is a convenience store nearby, and if you are looking for something more, Old Forge is a little over 40 minutes away by car. If youre the hiking sort, there are tons of trails nearby, which is great for nature lovers. Golden Beach Campground is a gem, and one of the favorite campsites in the state.

From The Campground

Golden Beach Campground & Day Use Area is a historic campground located in the Adirondack Park. The campground was developed in 1929 and opened to the public in 1931. Much of the continued development was accomplished by the Civilian Conservation Corp during 1933-1942. The campground offers camping and day use areas, and visitors can enjoy hiking, boating, and fishing. The Adirondack Park Visitors Interpretive Center at Newcomb is 30 miles east on N.Y.S. Route 28. The Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake is located 8 miles east on N.Y.S. Route 28, and features the History of the Adirondack Park. The village of Raquette Lake is 3 miles west on N.Y.S. Route 28, and offers restaurants, boat rentals, and scenic excursions on Raquette Lake with dining on board. Golf courses are available in the villages of Indian Lake and Inlet.
