This campground is a hidden gem located right on the French Broad River, with great proximity to Asheville. It offers full hook-ups, a purification system, two tubes, a suringe for cleaning out the filter and a few replacement parts. The campground is rustic and basic, not your typical cookie cutter type you see in most places. The river provides a tranquil sound and beautiful views, and the nearby train track provides an interesting experience. However, the campground is poorly maintained and the bathrooms are small for the size of the campground, with only a few tiny stalls and shower. There is also no potable water, no working sewer connection, Wifi so slow it is unusable, and trash and poorly maintained equipment and trailers all around. The staff is unfriendly and unwilling to exert any effort to correct problems. The campfire ring is dirty with some broken glass in the ashes, and the picnic table is old but still solid. There is also a rotted picnic table and seemingly dead tree limbs hanging over the campers. The cost is $42.00 a night for full hook-ups, but visitors should be aware of the issues and lack of amenities before booking.
